Five Lady Evangels Receive Post-Season Awards
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels were well represented in the post-season awards. Five Lady Evangels received post-season awards: Senior Heidi Steckbauer, Senior Holly Steckbauer, Junior Kasey Gardner, Freshman Alesha Calvery, and Freshman Somer Grimes. Senior Heidi Steckbauer ended her career as a Lady Evangel receiving First-Team All-Region for the National Christian College Athletic Association Division I Central Region. Steckbauer finished the season with a .237 batting average, and drove in 13 MACU runners. Senior Holly Steckbauer completed her career grabbing NCCAA All-Region honors, like her sister. She hit .241 on the year, including team high two homeruns. Holly Steckbauer had 15 RBI's, which ranks second on the team. MORE [+]

MACU Splits SNU on Final Day of the Season
BETHANY, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels split both games of a double header against the Southern Nazarene University Crimson Storm on the final day of the season, Thursday, April 24. The Lady Evangels won the first game, 5-1, in extra innings, but lost the second game, 2-1. In the first game, the Lady Evangels started quickly, scoring a run in the opening inning of the game. Junior Kasey Gardner doubled in Freshman Jenna Harris to take the lead. SNU tied the game in the bottom of the third inning, with a run. Freshman Kat Tims began to settle in and mow down the Crimson Storm batters. Both teams failed to get a runner across the plate in regulation, forcing the game into extra innings. MACU Falls in Double Header
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels fell in both games of a double header against the St. Gregory's University Lady Cavaliers in Sooner Athletic Conference play, Tuesday, April 22. The Lady Evangels lost the first game, 2-0, and the second game, 10-0. In the first game, SGU and MACU were caught in a pitchers dual, as Freshman Kat Tims and SGU pitcher Sharon Bell went head-to-head. Neither pitcher gave up a run in the first five innings of the game. The Lady Cavaliers got on the board first in the top of the sixth inning, scoring a run and taking a 1-0 lead. The Lady Evangels threatened in the bottom of the sixth inning, but Bell pitched out of a jam. SGU scored an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning, and held off the Lady Evangels in the bottom of the seventh inning for the win. MORE [+]
