11.9.07 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels lost in the first round of the National Christian College Athletic Association Division I Central Region Tournament Friday, Nov 9. MACU lost to Mid-America Nazarene University 2-0.

"The game was much like the season," Head Coach Zach Bice said. "Our defense played hard, but we could not put the ball in the net."

The first half was back and forth, but Mid-America Nazarene was able to score before halftime and took a 1-0 halftime lead.

The second half was much like the first half, but again the Lady Evangels struggled to score in the second half.

Mid-America Nazarene scored an insurance goal late in the second half and advanced to the Regional Championship game.

"We played well enough to win," Coach Bice said.

MACU out shot Mid-America Nazarene 14-11, while Emily Lyon contributed nine saves.

The Lady Evangels fell to 12-6.

MACU will play Central Christian College Saturday, Nov. 10 at 12:00 p.m. in the third place game.
