10/17/07 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Oklahoma City University Mascot Stars proved why they are a power in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) as they overmatched the Mid-America Christian University Evangels (9-5-2) in route to a 9-1 victory October 17. Early in the game the Evangels held tough not allowing a goal until the 35th minute. Things went downhill from that point with the Stars taking a half time lead. The Evangels played exceptional defense early, holding OCU to no goals. The lone bright spot for the Evangels came off the leg of Joey Yeisley in the team's lone goal. Kyle Miller had an assist on the play. In the goal, Austin Custar recorded 12 saves. The Evangels will meet up with another SAC opponent at they travel to Claremoore, Oklahoma on October 22 to play Rogers State University at 7:00 p.m. If you are interested in playing men's soccer for MACU or would like more information about the men's soccer program, contact Coach Zac Bice at 405-692-3283 or via email at zbich@macu.edu. |
