 Mustang Senior Karl Griffith Signs to Play Men's Golf at MACU OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City recently signed Mustang senior Karl Griffith to play men's golf for the 2008-2009 season. Griffith, a 17-year-old senior at Mustang High School, was a state qualifier for the Mustang Bronco's. Griffith will compete for a top five spot on the MACU Evangel golf team. MORE [+]  MACU Finishes 12th Place in Region VI Tournament LUBBOCK, Texas - The Mid-America Christian University Evangels finished in 12th place in the National association of Intercollegiate Athletics Region VI Tournament, held at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Lubbock, Texas. In the opening round, the Evangels shot a team score of 335, but still had another 18 holes to play on the day. Freshman Tyler Montgomery shot an opening round 79, while Junior Ryan McCabe and Freshman Cody Flynn shot an 84. Sophomore Andrew Shepherd finished with an 88, and Freshman Bryce Lawrence contributed a 91. MORE [+]  MACU Places 10th in Nike Invitational HUTHINSON, Kan. - The Mid-America Christian University Evangel golf team finished tenth in the Nike Invitational Tournament at Cottonwood Golf Club, Monday, April 7. The Evangels shot a 362. "This was a tough course, with very tough conditions," MACU Head Coach Markus Crandall said. Freshman Bryce Lawrence led all MACU golfers with an 85, while Junior Ryan McCabe shot an 86. Freshman Tyler Montgomery contributed an 87, while Sophomore Trevin Estep completed the team total with a 107. Freshman Cody Flynn was a medalist and shot a 93, while Sophomore Andrew Shepherd shot a 104. MACU will play in the Region VI Tournament at Hillcrest Golf Course in Lubbock, Texas, Monday and Tuesday, April, 21-22.
