Mid-America Christian University announces two-game baseball series with Oklahoma State University

MACU Evangels

April 14, 2008

4.14.08 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Mid-America Christian University head baseball coach Jason Blackwell announced the Evangels have added a two-game series with Oklahoma State University to the 2008 schedule. The games will be Wednesday, April 16 and Tuesday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium in Stillwater.

The games with Oklahoma State signify a major step in the Evangels athletic program. The games will be the first NCAA Division I opponent in school history.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I am totally stoked," said Blackwell. "Our boys will remember this for the rest of their lives."

The historic series with the Cowboys will highlight an already notable season for the Evangels. This is the team's inaugural season as members of the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Evangels currently own a 10-28 overall record; however they have won three of the last four games and enter the contests aware of their significance.

"Our baseball team is totally pumped and cannot wait for this moment," Blackwell said. "We know we have nothing to lose and everything to gain from this opportunity. We just hope we will represent our University with class and give our future teams an opportunity to do this again."

The addition of the midweek games with Oklahoma State adds to an already difficult stretch for the Evangels as they play six out of the next seven games on the road. The Evangels return home April 17 to play host to Rogers State University at 2 p.m. at James Curtis Field.
