April 22, 2008 4.22.08 - STILLWATER, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian University Evangels lost to the Oklahoma State University Cowboys, Tuesday, April 22, at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. The Cowboys defeated the Evangels, 10-4. MACU went 6-for-32 in the game, including a homerun. OSU collected 10 runs on 11 hits against the MACU pitching staff. The Evangels committed three errors, leading to three unearned runs. The first two innings of the game were scoreless, but the Cowboys chalked up a run in the bottom of the third inning, taking a 1-0 advantage. OSU scored two more runs in the fourth and fifth innings, and held a 5-0 lead. The Evangels got on the board in the top of the sixth inning, when Senior Jon Reed drove in Sophomore T.J. Munch, cutting the lead, 5-1. The Cowboys stretched their lead, 8-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring three runs. Freshman Alex Webb blasted a solo homerun in the top of the seventh innings, trimming the lead, 8-2. OSU scored two more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 10-2 lead. MACU rallied in the top of the ninth, scoring two runs, but the Cowboys held on for the win. Munch went 2-for-3 in the game, with a run scored. Reed finished the game 1-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Webb went 1-for-3 with a homerun, while Senior Matthew Howard and Freshman Collin Greuter had a RBI a-piece. The Evangels fall to 10-34 on the season, and remain 2-28 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. MACU will play Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College at home, Thursday, April 24.
