![]() MACU Ends Season in NCCAA Regional Tournament BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian University Evangels ended their season in the National Christian College Athletic Association Division I Central Region Tournament Thursday, May 8. The Evangels lost two games in a double elimination bracket. MACU fell to the Colorado Christian College Cougars in the first game, 11-1, and lost to the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles in the second game, 9-2. In the first game, both pitchers shut-out their opposition in the first inning, but CCC struck first in the bottom of the second inning with four runs and took a 4-0 advantage. The Cougars stretched their lead, 8-0, in the bottom of the third inning, while continuing to hold the MACU hitters in check. MORE [+] ![]() MACU Splits Last Double Header of the Regular Season MOORE, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian University Evangels split the last double header of the regular season against the Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College Saints, Saturday, April 26. The Saints defeated the Evangels in the first game, 8-3, but MACU cruised past HFWBC in the second game, 23-4. In the first game, the Saints jumped on the Evangels early, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning. MACU responded in the top of the second inning, scoring two runs and tying the game, 2-2. Junior Jake Scott hit a solo homerun, while Freshman Collin Greuter drove in Senior Matthew Howard on a sacrifice fly. MORE [+] ![]() MACU Splits SNU on Final Day of the Season BETHANY, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels split both games of a double header against the Southern Nazarene University Crimson Storm on the final day of the season, Thursday, April 24. The Lady Evangels won the first game, 5-1, in extra innings, but lost the second game, 2-1. In the first game, the Lady Evangels started quickly, scoring a run in the opening inning of the game. Junior Kasey Gardner doubled in Freshman Jenna Harris to take the lead. SNU tied the game in the bottom of the third inning, with a run. Freshman Kat Tims began to settle in and mow down the Crimson Storm batters. Both teams failed to get a runner across the plate in regulation, forcing the game into extra innings.
